| XPCreate - build install media that includes all needed service packs & hotfixes | (2004/06/21 14:30) |
If you have any need to build multiple XP desktops or VMs, you know how much of a pain it is to get the machine up and running safely on an untrusted network. (HINT: boot while disconnected from the network, install the base OS, setup the firewall, go to windows update and install SP1, disconnect network cable, reboot, reconnect network cable, repeatedly hit windows update and reboot until there are no more hotfixes) XPCreate attempts to make this process painless by allowing you to make a single cd that will install WindowsXP + all needed hotfixes and service packs. |
